Short version
JSON Formatter is a free in-browser JSON formatter and validator that pretty-prints, minifies, and surfaces parser errors without uploading your data that runs entirely in your browser. We do not collect personal information, we do not require an account, and the tool itself never sends your input to a server.
What we collect
- Anything you type or paste into the tool stays in your browser. It is never transmitted to our servers, and we have no server-side logging of tool inputs or outputs.
- Aggregate, privacy-preserving page analytics via Cloudflare Web Analytics. Cloudflare records anonymized request metadata (page path, country, browser family) to help us see which pages are loading. It does not use cookies and does not fingerprint visitors. See cloudflare.com/web-analytics.
- Cloudflare operational metadata required to serve the site (IP address in transit, TLS version, request path) is handled by Cloudflare under their privacy policy. We do not retain server logs ourselves.
Cookies
The site does not set first-party cookies. Cloudflare may set strictly necessary cookies for fraud prevention and TLS session handling; these are described in Cloudflare's policy linked above. There are no advertising, personalization, or cross-site tracking cookies.
Third-party advertising
We do not currently display ads. If we add advertising in the future, it will be through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may then use cookies or similar identifiers to serve ads based on a visitor's prior visits to this or other websites. When that change ships, this page will be updated and a separate consent notice will appear where required by law.
You can opt out of personalized advertising by Google at adssettings.google.com, and from third-party vendors using aboutads.info.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy in a material way, the "last updated" date at the top of this page will change and the change will be reflected in the site's git history at the link in the footer.
